Yoga routine

For the yoga routine that Luana did with us, look under comments for Yoga. So that we can do our 2 poses a day!

Essential Oils

There will be an essential oil class on January 28th, at the church, at 7:00. Mindy High will be teaching us and explaining the many uses of these products. Should be alot of fun. She has been using them for years and has found many wonderful ways to use them. For health, cleaning, and many other ways.

There will be a gardening class following our Relief Society meeting on the 21st. It will be held at approximately 8:30. Randy Hughs will be teaching us a number of different things. Things we should be starting, and things we should be planning. Any questions contact Kathleen Reeder.

The knitting class will be taught by Manu Hatch, if you are interested in this please contact Kathleen Reeder.

Medicinal Herbs

Linda Murdock is going to start a medicinal herb class, this coming Thursday, Jan. 14th at 7:00, at the church. Her ideas for this class is for each of to bring some remedies that may have been passed down through your family. Walk in the Saviors Footsteps

Don't forget our next Relief Society Meeting, January 21st. We have alot of fun activites planned to help us start the next year off right. Dr. Michael Johnson will be there to talk to us about finding the right kind of exercise shoe. We should all take care of ourselves, we don't need sore feet to go along with all those sore muscles. Sister Susan Gough will be there to teach us the art of couponing. I'm sure we can all think of better things to spend our money on. Sister Barbara Wiser has a Humanitarian project planned for us so that we can help others less fortunate that we are. We are in the service of our God when we serve others. We have an excellent dinner planned and as always it should be a whole lot of fun to get together and enjoy one another. Invite your neighbors and of course your Visiting Teaching ladies. We don't want anyone to miss out on this.

Cooking Class

As always the cooking class was a great success and a great deal of fun. This weeks cooking class was on breakfast meals. Julie Coles showed us how to make Overnight Pull Aparts, Sour Dough Pancakes, and Coconut Syrup. All of which were yummy and very quick and easy to make.
We also talked about using organizing and using our food storage. We got alot of fun and new ideas for breakfast. If you would like more of the recipes ask on of the Presidency or Sister Walton.

5K Training

A bunch of us are wanting to start training to do a 5K together this spring/summer. Some of us have a time we want to beat, some of us just want to cross the finish line in one piece, but we all want to accomplish something and have the T-shirt to prove it! If you're interested, contact Jesse Walker 221-5331

Yoga

I have had several women express an interest in having some yoga classes. The time that we are looking at is Wed mornings at 8:30 at the church. You are welcome to bring your little ones with you. (my boys always liked it when I gave them a zerbit while doing a downward-facing-dog pose! It messes up the breathing, but moms know how to adapt, right?)
Luana would be willing to do an evening class if there is enough of an interest, for those of you who have commitments during the day and couldn't make the morning class. Let Luana or I know if you would be interested.
Luana attended training in Salt Lake in the Yoga Fit program. Yoga Fit is designed specifically for strength, cardiovascular conditioning, and flexibility. In Luana's class we will be focusing on breathing, feeling, and listening to the body. We are so lucky to have Luana teach this for us, it will be amazing!
-What to bring? A mat or a towel and water. (Yoga mats may be purchased at Walmart for about $20. You could also buy a thin camping mat for considerably cheaper. A towel also works!)
-What to wear? Loose fitting clothes that you can move in. The class is done with bare feet.
Namaste!

Social Dance

We are going to start having Social Dance Classes at the church on the following Friday evenings from 7:00-8:30 pm : January 8, 15, 29, Feb 5, 12. My goal is for us to do some activities to get us moving that are a little different than what we normally think of as "workouts". Granted, we probably won't be burning very many calories while we're learning the dances, but once we have a few dances down, don't you think that dancing with your husband for 45 minutes might be a fun change from the treadmill every once in a while? Plus, I'm always up for spending time with my husband!
We are so lucky to have the Tolmans from the 9th ward come and teach us! JD and Debra Tolman met at Ricks College in a Social Dance class. JD went on to serve a mission while Debra went on to BYU where she competed with BYU's Ballroom Dance Team. In 1978, they decided to be eternal dance partners. Now, 4 children and 5 1/2 grandchildren later, they are still dancing!
We are going to start out learning the swing, and then just go from there. They are going to take things slow enough, that no matter what your level, you'll be able to do it.
Nursery will be provided by the Young Women.
Sounds like the perfect date night night to me!
It'll be fun!
